How to remove yourself from Spokeo
Last checked October 14, 2026
Spokeo publishes names, addresses, phone numbers and relatives to anyone who searches. You can ask it to take your listing down. Here's exactly how, as of October 14, 2026.
- You'll need
- Profile URL, Email address
- How long
- Spokeo says 24 to 48 hours, depending on the request.
- Can it come back?
- Yes. Spokeo says new public records can bring your information back without notice and asks you to check for new listings regularly.
Step by step
- Search your name on spokeo.com and open your listing.
- Copy the listing's URL from the address bar. It looks like spokeo.com/Name-Name/City/ST/p12345678.
- Paste it into the form on spokeo.com/optout, add an email address and press Opt Out.
- Click the confirmation link Spokeo emails you. Nothing happens until you do.
Good to know
- You may have several listings (old addresses, name spellings). Each one has its own URL and has to be opted out separately.
- Questions go to privacy@spokeo.com.
Then get it out of Google too
Opting out removes the listing from Spokeo, but Google can keep showing an old copy for a while. Google's Results about you tool lets you ask for those results to be dropped, and it can tell you when new ones appear.
How we checked this
We read the steps on Spokeo's own opt-out page on October 14, 2026. Anything we couldn't see there is marked as coming from other guides.
